The Mommy Survey

Here you go mommies - a different kind of survey for a change - it's all about your first born! Just leave me a comment if you decide to post on your own blog so I can check it out.

Blogging for Beads

Artbeads is one of my very favorite places to purchase interesting, artistic focal beads for many of my necklaces and bracelets. I also buy most of my alphabet beads from there. So, when I was asked to help them out with some marketing, I jumped at the chance. I am participating in a program they call "Blogging for Beads." I get some really cool beads sent to me periodically. I get to create something out of them, and then all I have to do is blog about the beads, how I used them, give a review of a specific product. I really have free reign with what I do. So here it goes:

The first product I selected to try was a Murano Glass Bead. If you aren't familiar with Murano Glass, it's beautiful, handmade glass and has been a famous product of the Venetian island of Murano for centuries. For my sample, I liked the blue and green 40mm Millefiori bead and thought I could do alot of beautiful stuff with this grand bead. So this is what I came up with:

So, for all you beaders out there...consider Artbeads the next time you need supplies. They are terrific and is a wonderful online source for exceptional beads and jewelry making supplies at low prices. They offer FREE shipping in the U.S. with no minimum order, and ship internationally with $1 shipping to Canada.

Gearing Up....

It's been a bit since I've written about the goings on of my etsy shoppe. Well, truth be told I haven't really done much of anything. It's been really slow. Although, it's a new year and I have renewed faith in my shoppe. I have some great ideas for some pieces and I wanted to share two things I created just today.

The first is a memory wire bracelet. It's adorned with lampworked heart beads so it's just in time for Valentine's Day.

The second piece is a really pretty 32 inch necklace. The chain is sterling silver and I've intermingled rectangular stone beads and glass beads. I really LOVE this one.

Several other vendors and I are also working on a "Wedding In A Box" theme. We will try to hit up the bridal shows and bridal magazines and have jewelry, make-up, photography, honeymoon all together and we'll have package deals. But, I'll write more about that at a future date.

Happy New Years

I came across this quote and it seems fitting in these times of troubled economy to remember all the blessings we really do have in our lives.

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive the week.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank or in your wallet, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not."

Many Blessings To You and Yours this 2009!!!
